Coursework update - 19/10/15

Hi guys,

So, you should all be well underway with your audience research, research analysis, treatment and storyboard, as well as other pre-production planning (shooting schedules, annotated lyrics, cast/prop lists, risk assessment forms etc...)

Your aim is to get the majority of this finished by half term (any unfinished bits to be completed during half term) so that you can start filming as soon as you come back.

If we haven't formally signed all of this off, then unfortunately you will not be allowed to start filming until you have completed these tasks and we have physically seen them.

Please ask us if you are concerned about anything.

Thanks :)

The Media Studies team.

Coursework update - audience research

You should start thinking about audience research and how you are going to gain information from your target audience in relation to the genre of music you are focusing on and the codes and conventions that surround it.

You could use a variety of different techniques to complete and present your audience research such as:
  • Interviews - vox pops/voice recordings etc...
  • Focus groups
  • Questionnaires
  • Feedback forms
Complete an audience profile for your video that contains information such as:
  • Age group
  • Gender
  • Hobbies/interests
  • Social class?
  • Any other information you feel relevant
Once you have gained your information from your target audience you can start to analyse it and discuss how this will impact the making of your own video.
