Hi guys,
Whether working in a group or alone, you need to start thinking of the name of your Record Label. Your record label logo will be seen on your digipack and website and may even feature in your Music Video.
Use the initial research you have (should have!) done into record labels and try to think of an appropriate name and font that will fit your genre and successfully represent your artist.
If you are in a group - this will be the name of your group blog - you will need to include a post on your group blog the reasons for coming up with the name and also create a logo for it on Photoshop.
If working alone, you will simply just need to post on your individual blog the reason you have chosen the name and include your Photoshop creation of the record label logo.
We will be checking you have done this by 2nd October (Friday P5 this week)
Thanks!

What should be on your individual blogs by now...
Hi guys,
So you should all be regularly updating your blogs still so that we can look over and mark your work.
So far on your blogs you should have:
- Y12 evaluation
- Ranking
- Green screen/lip synch exercise footage
- History into music videos
- Music video directors research and influences
- Lots of additional MV research and analyses
- A post detailing the genre you are focusing your MV on - go into detail about codes & conventions/evolution etc...
- What record label would represent your band/artist and why?
- Initial ideas (artist/band name, narrative/concept of your music video)
- Final song choice and evidence of letter/email sent to record label/artist to request permission to use the song
- Lighting workshop footage and photos (Edited)
- Goodwin theory essay (TBC) as well as posts on intertextuality, star image and voyeurism. A short essay on Carol Vernallis' theory will also be required (TBC)
We will be checking your blogs tomorrow (24/09/15) Period 5 and we expect the majority to be completed.
Please start preparing and thinking about the following things:
- If working in a group you need to set up a group blog and keep blogging your process as well as your individual blogs, this is VITAL.
- Audience research - you will need to start creating questionnaires to send to your target audience, as well as filming interviews/vox pops etc… to get feedback on your music video ideas and what your audience would like to see.
- Pre production bits (we need to see evidence of a treatment, storyboard, etc…)
- Filming locations
- FILMING WILL COMMENCE SHORTLY SO PLEASE PREPARE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN, ASAP
PS: Please be aware that if we feel your blog isn't up to date or containing the above posts, then you will be made to complete it in class and will not be able to start filming until it's done.
Let us know if you need a hand with anything!
Thanks and good luck!
